Housing Market Update
Greenville and the surrounding Upstate cities have continually been on the rise. As we head into the winter months, we are looking forward to helping more individuals buy and sell homes! There are many advantages to selling in the "off season". By choosing to list your home during fall and winter, you face less competition with other sellers, giving your home the potential to be seen by more buyers! When you list your home during the "off season", you can expect to come in contact with more serious buyers. With fewer transactions taking place, attorneys, lenders, and inspectors, might have the ability to turn transactions around faster - meaning shorter closing times for all parties! Mortgage rates are low at the moment, making it possible for buyers to afford higher priced homes. Take advantage of the market by not waiting to see what happens to rates in the spring and list your home today.
Greenville's growth in popularity can partially be contributed to being recognized by The National Geographic, BuzzFeed, Wall Street Journal, Bon Appetit and many other news sources! More and more people are falling in love with our city, which means the housing market has boomed. With 2017 winding down, let's take a look at how the Greenville housing market and the surrounding Upstate area has performed so far.
From January '17 through September '17, we've seen an increasing trend of homes sold. Statistics show in the chart above that over the last 9 months, 9,626 single family homes and condos have been on the market. The average days on the market is 54 days, and the average price is $226,136. Comparing the housing market to last year's, out of the last 6 months, 2017 has performed better than 2016.
